i relate to Archibald so much, he just tries to get everything to be right, and when other people are messing up his big vision he tries to get them to stop & he wants to control everything #PerfectNumberWatchesVeggieTales—Perfect Number (@pnumber628) 2018-03-15
All right let's talk about the story of Prince Omelette. There were only 3 eggs left in the kingdom, the people were starving, & the prince had his omelette but didn't want to share #PerfectNumberWatchesVeggieTales—Perfect Number (@pnumber628) 2018-03-15
I'm kind of... not sure what to make of this? Even after Omelette decides to share, they still think there's only those 3 eggs. In practical terms, his decision to share doesn't help. #PerfectNumberWatchesVeggieTales—Perfect Number (@pnumber628) 2018-03-15
But... like in the average person (or child watching VeggieTales)'s life, they're not going to be in a situation where they're the king & responsible for helping all their subjects #PerfectNumberWatchesVeggieTales—Perfect Number (@pnumber628) 2018-03-15
...so maybe it didn't matter that it didn't make practical sense, because that aspect would be different in a real-life situation for the kids watching this? #PerfectNumberWatchesVeggieTales—Perfect Number (@pnumber628) 2018-03-15

I guess I would define "sharing" as letting someone borrow (or consume, in the case of consumables like food) something that belongs to you, and you're not obligated to do it, you just do it for friendly reasons #PerfectNumberWatchesVeggieTales—Perfect Number (@pnumber628) 2018-03-15
Although I think for little kids, sharing is sort of different- like, as a kid i wasn't allowed to NOT share toys with siblings/friends #PerfectNumberWatchesVeggieTales—Perfect Number (@pnumber628) 2018-03-15
and i think it's good to require kids to share their toys- with exceptions for when the other kid isn't trustworthy & might break it #PerfectNumberWatchesVeggieTales—Perfect Number (@pnumber628) 2018-03-15

Maybe "King George and the Ducky" comes closest? Because the lesson is that King George's "selfishness" hurt other people (and we are to understand that hurting other people is bad). And because when the "slightly odd wise man" comes and tells King George the story of the rich man who stole the poor man's only sheep, the king is angry because he feels empathy- and that's the turning point of the story.@pnumber628 Off the top of my head, I can’t think of a VeggieTales episode that has the moral “caring about others is inherently good.” It’s all “do what god says” and “do vaguely defined good things because Secret Reasons.”—Nate V. Actually, I seem to remember I was taught "it's bad to use your money/possessions to 'buy' friends, then they only care about what they can get from you, they don't care about you" which was SO CONFUSING because I was also taught it's good to be generous and give to other people. (Also Jesus' "Parable of the Shrewd Manager" was [and still is] confusing as hell.)Both messages ("sharing makes you feel good" & "sharing can help you get more friends") are very much NOT things that typically get taught to kids in sunday school (in my experience) #PerfectNumberWatchesVeggieTales—Perfect Number (@pnumber628) 2018-03-15

Anyway, to sum up, I mostly think it's REALLY WEIRD that VeggieTales "Lyle the Kindly Viking" did not list "sympathy for people who need help" as a motivation for sharing #PerfectNumberWatchesVeggieTales—Perfect Number (@pnumber628) 2018-03-15
