I've fallen out of touch with a lot of ...Yeah.. I've fallen out of touch with a lot of them because I just don't know what to say. I met up with a couple friends last fall for lunch and they asked if I'd found a church yet, and "how can I pray for you?" - had no idea how to respond, so I just said something about not finding the right fit, since it hardly seemed the place to say "well actually, I'm not into that anymore, because have you considered the problem of evil." It sucks, because I really loved those guys and we shared a lot of our lives with each other, but now we're on very different paths. :/Beth Mnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8626292304461574111.post-56371948595392503252014-07-30T04:34:20.136-04:002014-07-30T04:34:20.136-04:00Cool! To be honest, I'm worried about how my best friends from back then would think of me now, since I've obviously "been led astray" and all that. :(perfectnumber628http://tellmewhytheworldisweird.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8626292304461574111.post-27817317174304081572014-07-29T23:34:34.978-04:002014-07-29T23:34:34.978-04:00Yeah, this is the way I'm feeling now, too. I'm reading a cool book called "Sacred Word, Broken Word" that's making some persuasive points about a better way to understand the Bible as human words that God uses, rather than God's words with humans as the stenographers.

And I'm even starting to feel close to God again.Kristen Rossernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8626292304461574111.post-46867093484226082252014-07-29T22:50:23.012-04:002014-07-29T22:50:23.012-04:00(I think it ate my first attempt at commenting so ...(I think it ate my first attempt at commenting so I'm trying again, sorry if it shows up twice!)

I stumbled across your blog via some retweets and I hope this doesn't sound weird but I think we met a few times in undergrad - I was '12, super involved with Cru, also had a bunch of friends in the nerd fraternity. Anyways, since graduating I had a lot of personal changes, learned about feminism, ended up rejecting the black and white legalism and really most of the things I argued for back then. So.. it's awesome and kind of comforting to know someone else is going through this too!
